RytePad is an all-in-one productivity web app that combines a daily task manager, a private diary, a goal tracker, custom task lists, and a smart notepad (Notes) — with powerful search across everything. It syncs seamlessly and works on all your devices.
Visit rytepad.com and click “Sign Up Free.” Enter your full name, a valid email address, and a password (at least 8 characters), then click “Register.” You'll be logged in automatically and taken to your dashboard — and you'll get a welcome email.
On the Login page, enter your registered email address or username (a username is auto-generated when you register) plus your password. You'll stay logged in on that device for up to 40 days, thanks to cookies.
Yes — RytePad is free to use, with generous limits: unlimited daily tasks, unlimited diary entries, unlimited long-term goals, up to 20 task lists, up to 20 notes, and 5 timer credits per day.
An optional Pro plan unlocks extras: auto-copying unfinished tasks to the next day, the daily Diary Note, Monthly Goals, unlimited notes, and unlimited timer use.
Yes. RytePad is web-based and works in any browser — smartphones, tablets, and desktops. Just visit rytepad.com and log in; your content syncs across all devices.
Add tasks for today or any future date (up to 500 characters each), mark them complete, edit, restore, or delete them — with fun sound effects along the way. Green calendar dots mark days that have tasks, and you can search all tasks by keyword and/or date range. Learn more about Daily Tasks.
Yes, two kinds of email reminders — both on by default:
Turn either off under Dashboard → Newsletters.
With Auto Copy enabled, unfinished tasks carry over to the next day automatically at midnight. Copied tasks get a prefix showing how long they've been pending — “D1|:”, then “D2|:”, and so on up to Day 10 (D10), after which they stop copying. Enable it in your Dashboard under “Auto Copy Tasks Next Day.”
Daily Tasks are tied to specific dates — perfect for “do this today.” Task Lists are named, reusable collections not tied to any date — grocery lists, packing lists, project checklists. Free users can create up to 20 lists with unlimited items (500 characters each).
Pick a date and write — each entry is automatically timestamped and supports rich formatting (bold, lists, colors, highlights). You can write multiple entries per day, up to 20,000 characters each, and edit or delete them anytime. Blue calendar dots mark days with entries. Learn more about the Diary.
A separate plain-text note attached to each day — ideal for a short daily summary alongside your entries. It auto-saves after 10 seconds (or click “Save Note”). Free users see a lock on this section.
A flexible notepad where each note has a title (1–32 characters) and a rich-text editor holding up to 20,000 characters, with auto-save every 10 seconds. Free users get up to 20 notes; Pro users unlimited. Learn more about Smart Notes.
Yes — click Share on any open note and choose Note Snapshot (a static link to the current version) or Live Note (always shows your latest saved content). Readers see a view-only page with the note's title, your name, and the content — no account needed. If you delete the note, its links stop working.
The Goals tab has two sub-tabs: Long Goals (big-picture targets — free and unlimited) and Monthly Goals (time-bound targets for a chosen month/year — Pro). Add, edit, complete, restore, or delete goals; completed goals sort newest first. Learn more about the Goal Tracker.
On desktop, click the “Set Timer” (⏰) widget at the bottom-right; on smaller screens, access it from your Dashboard. Enter the minutes (e.g., 25 for a Pomodoro) and click “Set Timer.” When time's up, a beep repeats for 1 minute with options to Stop or Set Again. Free users get 5 timer credits per day; Pro users unlimited.
From your Dashboard (click your name in the header):
In your Dashboard's Refer Friends tab, copy your unique link (e.g., rytepad.com/?ref=yourname — append &tid=something to track campaigns). You can view total/active referrals with breakdowns by time frame, TID, country, and traffic source. Referral rewards are inactive for now, but tracking works.
Yes — your tasks, diary, goals, lists, and notes are tied to your account and visible only to you. The only exception is notes you explicitly share via a link, which are view-only for readers. Sessions are managed securely, and you can log out anytime with “Logout 🔒” in your Dashboard.
Check your internet connection, then click the 🔃 Refresh button in the top header (or reload the page). If your session expired, simply log in again. Still stuck? Email [email protected].
Tasks, diary entries, goals, and list items save immediately when you add or edit them. Note content and the Diary Note (Pro) auto-save every 10 seconds — or click their Save buttons for an instant save (a 💾 confirmation flashes).
No — deleting a task, entry, goal, list, or note is permanent (you'll always be asked to confirm first). Completed tasks and goals, however, can be restored to Pending anytime with the ↩️ button.
