At RytePad (rytepad.com), we are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how RytePad (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, shares, and safeguards your personal information when you use our web-based productivity application for task management, journaling, goal tracking, task lists, and notes (the “Service”). By using RytePad, you consent to the practices described herein.
2. Information Collection
We collect the following types of information to provide and enhance the Service:
Personal Information
Full name, email address, and username (auto-generated during registration).
Password (stored as a secure hash).
Usage Data
IP address, login times, activity logs, and error logs (to monitor usage and troubleshoot issues).
Time zone (to customize features like task reminders and to maintain time flexibility worldwide).
Content Data
Daily tasks, diary entries and diary notes, goals, task lists, and notes (encrypted using AES-256 encryption).
Referral Data
Tracking ID (TID), country, and traffic source (if you participate in the referral program).
Log Data
Error logs and user activity logs (for service improvement and security).
3. Use of Information
We use your information for the following purposes:
Service Delivery: To provide, maintain, and personalize RytePad, including daily task management (to-do lists), journaling, goal tracking, task lists, and notes.
Notifications: To send service-related emails, such as daily pending and upcoming task reminders, based on your preferences.
Improvement: To analyze usage trends, referral data, and logs to enhance features and user experience.
Security: To monitor for threats, prevent abuse, and ensure the integrity of the Service.
4. Data Sharing
No Sale or Rent: We do not sell or rent your personal data to third parties.
Service Providers: To facilitate the operation and enhancement of the Service, we may share non-personal data with carefully selected third-party service providers, such as email service providers. These providers are bound by strict confidentiality agreements and are permitted to use the data only for the purposes of providing services to us.
Legal Requirements: We may disclose data if required by law, to comply with legal processes, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.
Analytics: Aggregated, anonymized data may be used for statistical analysis or service improvement.
5. Shared Notes
RytePad's Notes feature lets you share individual notes via links — as a static snapshot or a live note. When you generate a share link, the note's title, content, and your name become viewable by anyone who has that link, without requiring a RytePad account. Shared notes are view-only for readers. You can stop sharing at any time by deleting the note, which deactivates its share links. Only notes you explicitly share are ever visible to others — all your other content remains private to your account.
6. Data Security
Encryption: Your content (daily tasks, diary entries, goals, task lists, notes) is encrypted using AES-256 encryption to ensure confidentiality.
Password Protection: Passwords are securely hashed using industry-standard algorithms.
Safeguards: We implement regular security audits, rate limiting, and strict access controls to protect your data.
Limitations: While we strive to secure your data, no online service is 100% secure, and you share data at your own risk.
7. User Rights
Access: View your personal data (e.g., daily tasks, diary entries, notes) directly within the RytePad application.
Correction: Update your username, full name, or password via your account dashboard, subject to limitations (e.g., 2 username changes).
Deletion: Request account or data deletion by contacting us at [email protected].
Notifications: Opt in or out of email reminders and newsletters anytime under Dashboard → Newsletters.
8. Cookies and Tracking
Cookies: We use cookies for session management (keeping you logged in for up to 40 days), user preferences, and to enhance your experience. You can disable cookies via your browser settings, though this may limit functionality.
Third-Party Tools: We use libraries like Flatpickr for date selection, which may employ cookies or tracking. Refer to their privacy policies for details.
Analytics: Usage data may be analyzed to improve the Service, potentially via third-party tools, but only in anonymized form.
Duration: We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service.
Deletion: Inactive accounts or data may be deleted after a reasonable period, and you can request deletion at any time by contacting us.
10. International Users

If you are in the European Union, you have rights under the General Data Protection Regulation, including access, correction, and deletion of your data. Contact us to exercise these rights.
CCPA (California)
California residents have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act, such as the right to know about and request deletion of your personal data. Contact us for assistance.
11. Third-Party Services
External Links and Tools: RytePad may integrate third-party tools and libraries (e.g., Flatpickr for date selection) to provide specific features. These tools have their own privacy policies, and we do not control how they collect or use data.
Email Providers: We use email services to send notifications, reminders, and other service-related communications. These providers are governed by their respective privacy terms and are used solely to facilitate communication between RytePad and its users.
Analytics and Tracking Services: To better understand how users interact with RytePad and to improve our services, we use analytics and tracking tools such as Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. These services may collect data about your interactions with our website, including page views, clicks, and time spent on the site. Each of these services has its own privacy policy, and we are not responsible for their data practices.
Note: Some third-party services, particularly analytics and tracking tools, may use cookies or other technologies to collect data about your use of RytePad. You can manage your cookie preferences through your browser settings.
12. Changes to the Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect changes in our practices or legal obligations. Significant updates will be posted on rytepad.com or communicated via email. Your continued use of the Service after such changes indicates your acceptance.
