Smart Notes — Your Online Notepad
A digital notebook for everything worth keeping: ideas, recipes, plans, drafts. Rich formatting, auto-save, and shareable links — from any device, no app needed.
What are Smart Notes?
The “Notes” section (under the 📚 Notes tab, fifth icon in the bottom navigation) is a powerful, flexible notepad. Each note has its own title and a rich-text editor — like pages in a digital notebook that you can search, edit, and even share with a link.
Free users can create and share up to 20 notes; Pro users get unlimited. People keep all kinds of things in Smart Notes:
🍰 Recipes
💡 Ideas & drafts
🗺️ Trip plans

Creating Your First Note
- Log in to RytePad and click the 📚 Notes tab.
- In the “Create a Note Title” box, enter a short title (e.g., “Chocolate Cake Recipe”) — 1–32 characters, no semicolons (;) or line breaks.
- Click Add Note — a green “Note added. Select below.” message confirms it.
Note: Titles must be unique (case-insensitive) — you'll get an alert if one already exists.
Opening a Note
- In the “Search & Select Notes…” box, your new note pops up automatically — or type part of a title to filter, or click into the box to see all notes (newest first).
- Click a title to open it: you'll see the note with a “Rename Note” button, creation/update dates, the rich-text editor, a character counter, and “Save Content,” “Delete,” and “Share” buttons.
Tip: Use “Clear Selection” to close the note and return to the overview.
Writing & Formatting
- Click into the editor and type or paste your content (up to 20,000 characters — the counter turns red if you go over).
- Style it with the toolbar:
- B (bold), I (italic), U (underline),
S (strikethrough).
- Numbered and bulleted lists.
- Text colors (grey, red, blue, green) and yellow highlights.
- Horizontal lines (─), clear formatting, undo/redo, and a spell-check toggle (🔤).
- Changes auto-save every 10 seconds — or click Save Content. A “💾 Saved” message flashes and the “Updated:” date refreshes.
Example: For a recipe, bold the dish name, list the ingredients as bullets, and number the steps.
Sharing a Note with a Link
Every note can be shared — no account needed for the reader. Click Share at the bottom of an open note and choose:
📸 Note Snapshot
A link to the note as it is right now. Static — later edits won't change what readers see. Great for one-time shares.
🔄 Live Note
A link that always shows your latest saved content. Perfect for ongoing updates — share once, edit forever.
A box appears with the link and a “Copy” button — send it by email, chat, or social media. The reader sees the note's title, your name, and the content — view-only, they can't edit anything.
Note: If you delete a note, its shared links stop working.
Renaming, Deleting & Searching
- Rename: Click Rename Note next to the title, edit (same rules: 1–32 characters), then “Save.”
- Delete: Click Delete at the bottom and confirm — permanent, and it breaks any shared links.
- Search: Open the 🔍 Search tab → “Search Notes” sub-tab → enter a term (e.g., “chocolate”) → Search. Results show matching notes with highlighted snippets.
